The Final In-Person Group Sessions Have Begun in İslahiye, Gaziantep, as Part of the MİRA Project

As part of the MİRA Project, led by Ibn Haldun University and supported by TÜBİTAK, psychosocial support activities for individuals who lost loved ones in the February 6 earthquakes are continuing in İslahiye, Gaziantep.

The latest in-person group sessions held in Gaziantep’s İslahiye as part of the project began on June 2 and will run through June 18. Planned to last three weeks, these sessions bring together participants who lost loved ones in the earthquake to conduct supportive group activities addressing the psychological, social, and daily life challenges experienced following the loss.

Conducted under the guidance of experts, the group sessions aim to facilitate participants’ sharing of experiences regarding the grieving process, coping strategies, emotional challenges, social support needs, and their experiences adapting to daily life. The group sessions provide participants with the opportunity to express their loss experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

In the project’s subsequent phases, it is planned to continue these support activities through online group sessions.
